From Entertainment Bobber Wiki
Toby Gard is a currently a director of cinematics at Crystal Dynamics. He is primary famous for designing Lara Croft, the main character of the popular Tomb Raider series. Toby was originally a part of Core Design, the company which developed the original Tomb Raider. He left the company in 1997, before Tomb Raider II was released, because he didn't have as much creative control over the second game, as well as being alienated by an idea of marketing Lara's sex appeal.
In April 1997, Toby Gard and Paul Douglas co-founded a game development studios called Confounding Factor and developed the Xbox title Galleon.
After Galleon was finished in 2004, Eidos hired Toby Gard to work on Tomb Raider: Legend at Crystal Dynamics. Even though Toby was only an advisor/consultant for new Lara game, he got promoted to the lead designer for the next Tomb Raider installment, Anniversary. In the latest Tomb Raider game, Underworld, Toby Gard is credited as the director of cinematics and story writer (together with Eric Lindstrom).
