Reviews

The Exchange Student is an old style adventure game, it has unobtrusive but fun story, similar to those of Larry series. It also can boast with the pretty pleasant graphics and nice voice-overs. The only downside is it doesn't offer its price worth. Upon the release the cost of the game was 10 euros I believe, later it went down to 6 and even with that price it feels like a demo version you have to pay for. Developers promise 2 to 4 hours of gameplay (8 if you use your feet to move the mouse) which in reality comes to one hour or even less. It ends so fast, that you can't believe you spent your 6 (or 10) euros just a while ago and now you have to play something else.

It is also worth mentioning that when you buy the game for one PC, you will not be able to play it on any other PC, as the serial number is generated for a specific machine. This fact might also make you think that the price is over the top.

On the good side, Episode 1 does warm up your interest and makes you want to know what will happen next. If you bought the game right after its release, you would have to wait for over a year to get into action again as Episode 1 was released in August 2006, Episode 2 - in October 2007. Who knows when Episode 3 would be available for purchase - there are hardly any updates at all.

In the end, the game is very good and totally worth playing if you love the genre and will not regret spending money on an overpriced product.
